Deary Diary,
I'm getting rather fed up with this process so far. For one thing, they moved two boys into my room today. That makes one girl (me) and three boys. Ridiculous. And then I come to McDo and pay 1,30 euro for a tiny cup of coffee so I can use the wifi...and it doesn't work! So there's nothing I can do today. No apt-searching, no contacting family, no finding out when Bev is arriving, no ability to tell the other assistants about this apt I already found. And I wrote a text message for Anne-Marie just to find that I don't have a cell phone number for her. Only a home phone. I don't want to spend my minutes calling her just to reach her voicemail or have her decline an invitation to visit me in Nice. I just wish this process of settling in could be a bit easier. How can I do everything if I'm wasting my money on McDo just to find there's no signal? And I have no clue how I'm going to get my things to/from the hostel in Cimiez on the 30th.
Don't get me wrong, I love it here. I just wish the next two weeks would hurry up so I could just breathe. If I couldn't speak French, I'd probably be making arrangements to go home already. But it still sucks not having a support system available here. I'm just in need of a boost. Something to brighten up my day and help this process go faster and smoother. Bev's in town tomorrow, so perhaps that will help. Who knows if she'll even make it here with those cats of hers... I hope she doesn't have too many issues b/c of them.
I'm gonna go head off to the beach, maybe take some pictures or something. My goal for the day is to spend no more money. If Tom (the English guy) can do it, so can I. I'll probably be back tonight with something to say, so bye for now!
