Dear Diary,
So I'm back at the beach again! This morning I slept in, talked to Mom online, packed a small picnic, and headed to the beach. There were lots of topless ladies today. If MaMa were here, I imagine her reaction would be "I Swanee!" Haha.
Here's a video that I took the first time I visited the beach. It's a little shaky and I was moving way too fast. But it's still a decent video.
Yesterday I got six postcards written. And after I finished up at the beach I went to Casino (a local supermarket) and bought stuff for dinner. I got bread, slices of cheddar "burger" cheese, and tomato puree. The idea was to make grilled cheese and tomato soup, so I had to be somewhat inventive with the puree. The grilled cheese turned out great, but for the soup I added lots of salt, pepper, and oregano that I found in the cabinet. And surprisingly, the ended up being just as good as the soup I have in the USA. Natchalee (the French roomie) tried some and dipped the sandwich in the soup. She thought it was really good and even asked me for the recipe. Haha. Maybe when I return from France I'll be a decent cook, who knows?
Today I've just been lounging around for the most part. Paule decided she didn't like the way Jenny and I had split up our work hours. So now I'll be at the high school Tuesday 9am-4pm, Thursday 11am-3pm, and Friday 9am-3pm. I have at least 1-2 hours for planning periods/breaks each day, which is a good thing. Plus I don't work on Wednesdays and I have 3-day long weekends. Jealous? ;) Haha. Couldn't get any better than this. In terms of bus fare, I'll be spending 6 euros/week...which is great too. It's cheaper for me to pay as I go rather than get a monthly bus pass b/c I barely ride the bus except for when work.
The beach is really nice today. Not too hold or cold, more families sitting around, and even vendors walking around giving out free samples. I finally went into the water. At first it was freezing, but was bearable once I started swimming around. And to my surprise there were little fish nearby keeping me company. The water is very blue here. You can see your body pretty well in the water, but it's not crystal clear. And it's hard to get in and out of the water b/c there is a steep hill of rocks and pebbles between the sunbathers and teh water. It really hurts my feet, but the only wat to avoid the pain would be to wear jellies (sandals) into the water. Maybe if I come across a cheap pair I'll get them.

Well, it's time to go back to the apartment. I've got itchy sand on my skin, and I need to get ready for tonight. I think Lori and I have plans. Yay! Talk to you soon!
